The Nigeria Police Force, Zone One Headquarters in Kano, has addressed concerns raised by civil society organizations and stakeholders regarding the invitation of Daily Nigeria's Editor-in-Chief, Jafar Jafar, and Publisher, Audu Umar, for questioning.

The police received a court order from Chief Magistrate Court No. 15 in Kano to investigate complaints of criminal conspiracy, defamation, and inciting public disturbance. The Assistant Inspector General of Police directed a discreet investigation, prompting the invitation for an interview.

The police emphasized their commitment to fairness, justice, and unbiased investigations, assuring the public that they will uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. They also recognized the importance of free speech and independent media in a democratic society.

The court order stated that the suspects should not be detained until the completion of the case. The police appealed to the public to allow the investigation process to take its course and refrain from making uninformed comments.

The police called on stakeholders, including civil society organizations and the media, to cooperate with them during the investigation. They assured the public that their actions are guided by the principles of fairness, justice, and respect for the rule of law.

The Nigeria Police Force, Zone One Headquarters, remains committed to serving the public with dedication and professionalism, upholding the law, and protecting citizens' rights.
