From Hadi Bawa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called upon the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to initiate a reconciliation process with Kwankwaso and others willing to join the party.

This call was made during a meeting with Kano APC stakeholders, shortly after the Supreme Court upheld the election of Abba Yusuf as Kano State Governor.

The President urged all party stakeholders in the state to engage in dialogue with individuals, associations, or political parties willing to align with the APC for the unity, progress, and development of the state.

The directive surprised attendees at the meeting. When the President asked if there were any objections, they all affirmed compliance with his instructions.

The President expressed dissatisfaction with a stakeholder's proposal to appoint the APC candidate to a certain position, a suggestion he visibly disapproved of.

Sources indicate that the invitation to join the APC has been extended to key stakeholders of the NNPP, including the governor. They have shown interest but requested time to consult their national leader, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The offer to the NNPP includes a 50% share of party leadership from the ward to the state level.

The governor was also requested to make additional appointments to facilitate the harmonization of original APC members.

It remains unconfirmed whether the governor and Sen. Kwankwaso will accept the offer.

Attendees at the meeting included Deputy President of the Senate Barau Jibrin, APC governorship candidate in 2023 Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Abdullahi Gwarzo, Minister of State FCT Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, and Former House Leader Alhassan Ado Doguwa, among others.
