The Aisha Foundation has partnered with the Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to empower residents of an IDP camp in Mariri, Tarauni Local Government, with vocational skills and food support.

This collaborative effort is a significant step towards supporting vulnerable populations in the state.

Honourable Commissioner Amina Abdullahi Sani reiterated the government's commitment to uplifting the less privileged, promising to return with materials for children's activities and gifting each child 500 Naira.

Aisha Abdulrahim, CEO of Aisha Foundation, praised the state's initiative, noting its alignment with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's vision for an inclusive society.

The partnership also distributed palliatives in Kaburma village, Dawakin Tofa Local Government, as part of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty celebrations.

This initiative fulfills the administration's promise to support vulnerable individuals across the state.

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, observed annually on October 17, aims to promote understanding and dialogue between people living in poverty and the rest of society.

The 2024 theme, "Ending Social and Institutional Maltreatment: Acting together for just, peaceful and inclusive societies," highlights the need to address hidden dimensions of poverty.

This year's theme emphasizes the importance of addressing social and institutional maltreatment experienced by people living in poverty.

It calls for collective action to promote just, peaceful, and inclusive societies, as outlined in Sustainable Development Goal 16.

The Aisha Foundation's partnership with the Kano State Ministry demonstrates a commitment to eradicating poverty and promoting social inclusion.

By providing vocational skills and food support, the initiative empowers IDP camp residents to improve their lives.

The success of this partnership serves as a model for future collaborations aimed at addressing poverty and promoting social welfare in Kano State.
