Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has taken a significant step towards combating youth unemployment in Kano State by reopening the Horticulture and Livestock training institutes.
The governor presented admission letters to 340 students, emphasizing the importance of these institutions in equipping young people with practical skills.
At the Bagauda premises in Bebeji Local Government Area, Governor Yusuf highlighted the institutes' role in reducing redundancy among the state's youth.
The Horticulture Institute will focus on environmental beautification and health, while providing students with a pathway to earn a livelihood.
The Livestock Institute will train 140 students in practical skills like ram fattening and animal husbandry, enhancing their contribution to Kano's agricultural economy.
Governor Yusuf urged students to seize the opportunity, citing a previous graduate's success in dairy production as an example of lasting economic empowerment.
The reopening of these institutes marks a significant milestone in Governor Yusuf's plan to position Kano as a model state, with key stakeholders pledging support for the centers' objectives.
