Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, Chairman of the Kano Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), has been arrested. A source within the commission confirmed the arrest, stating that Rimingado was taken into custody on Friday and is likely to be transferred to Abuja.

The arrest was carried out by police operatives led by ASP Ahmed Bello, who claimed to have orders to detain Rimingado.

The circumstances surrounding Rimingado's arrest are unclear, but sources suggest it may be linked to an ongoing trial involving Bala Muhammed Inuwa, former Managing Director of Kano Agricultural Supply Company Limited (KASCO).

Inuwa is accused of diverting over N4 billion in public funds, and the trial has led to the seizure of properties allegedly tied to the case.

The PCACC has been instrumental in investigating the corruption case and securing seized properties, including funds in bank accounts and assets valued at over N2 billion.

However, the commission raised concerns about being excluded from proceedings related to the case, despite being the primary body responsible for the confiscated properties.

Rimingado's arrest has sparked speculation about its connection to the high-profile corruption case and the commission's efforts to protect public assets.

The PCACC has been vocal about its commitment to fighting corruption and protecting public interests.

As the investigation unfolds, many are left wondering about the motivations behind Rimingado's arrest. Is it a genuine attempt to address corruption, or is it a move to silence a vocal anti-corruption advocate? The answers remain unclear, but one thing is certain – the people of Kano are watching closely.

The PCACC's efforts to combat corruption have been noteworthy, and Rimingado's leadership has been instrumental in driving these efforts.

His arrest raises concerns about the independence of the commission and its ability to operate without interference.

As the situation continues to unfold, it is essential to remember that the fight against corruption requires courage, conviction, and a commitment to justice. The people of Kano demand transparency and accountability, and it is crucial that their voices are heard.
