Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has vowed to expand the capacity of the NNPP Kwankwasiyya Media Forum, recognizing their tireless efforts in promoting the government's policies and programs to the public.
This promise was made during an empowerment program organized by the forum at the Coronation Hall of the Kano Government House.
Governor Yusuf emphasized the critical role the forum plays in bridging the gap between the government and the people, ensuring citizens are well-informed about the administration's developmental initiatives.
He noted that even small gestures of support can bring significant joy and motivation to the recipients. The event coincided with his 62nd birthday and marked his first official engagement of 2025.
To support the forum's enlightenment and advocacy efforts, Governor Yusuf announced a substantial contribution of N30 million.
He commended the forum for its professional approach in engaging with opposition parties, urging them to maintain objectivity and politeness in political discourse. The Governor expressed confidence that their respectful engagements would eventually win over even the fiercest critics of the NNPP.
The leadership of the forum, including Chairman Alhaji Nagoda, Murtala Zawai, Nura Bakwankwashe, and Ali Gyara Hausawa, was lauded by Governor Yusuf for their commitment to supporting media vanguards and fostering greater public understanding of government projects in Kano.
He assured them of further collaboration and promised to meet with the forum's executive members to explore additional opportunities.
Earlier, Chairman Alhaji Nagoda revealed that the forum had raised N11 million from friends of the NNPP, commissioners, and aides to support the empowerment initiative for media vanguards.
This donation demonstrates the forum's dedication to promoting the government's policies and programs.
The expansion of the NNPP Media Forum's capacity is expected to further enhance the government's ability to engage with the public and promote its developmental initiatives.
