Murtala Sule Garo, the former Kano State Commissioner for Local Government Affairs and APC deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, has expressed concern over the lingering feud between Kano's former governors, Senator Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The rift between the two political heavyweights, once close allies, reportedly began in 2016.

Speaking at a gathering of former members of the 8th and 9th Kano State House of Assembly, Garo called on Ganduje and Kwankwaso to set aside their differences and work together for the development of Kano State.

He emphasized that their reconciliation is crucial for the state's progress, citing the example of Zamfara State, where former governors put aside their differences to work towards the state's development.

Garo's plea was heartfelt, as he expressed disappointment that Kano's leaders and elders cannot come together to discuss matters that will drive the state's development.

He appealed to Ganduje and Kwankwaso to reconcile and put aside their differences, stressing that this is essential if they truly desire Kano State's progress.

The call for reconciliation comes at a time when Kano State is poised for significant development under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The governor has unveiled his 2025 vision, pledging progress and unity for Kano State. With the state's focus on education, infrastructure, and healthcare, the reconciliation of Ganduje and Kwankwaso could provide a significant boost to these efforts.

Garo's statement highlights the importance of unity and cooperation among Kano's leaders in driving the state's development.

As the state moves forward, it is essential that its leaders put aside their differences and work towards a common goal.

The appeal for reconciliation has sparked hopes that Ganduje and Kwankwaso will put aside their differences and work together for the benefit of Kano State.

Only time will tell if this call will be heeded, but one thing is certain – the people of Kano State will benefit greatly from their leaders' unity and cooperation.
