The Kano State Government has taken a significant step towards improving blood transfusion services in the state with the inauguration of the State Technical Working Committee on Blood Transfusion.

The committee's primary objective is to identify and address gaps and challenges in blood transfusion services, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.

According to the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, the committee's formation is a crucial step towards enhancing blood transfusion services in Kano State. 

He emphasized that the selection of committee members was based on their competency, and he expressed confidence that they would excel in their tasks. Dr. Labaran urged the committee members to work tirelessly to provide excellent service delivery to the people of Kano State.

The Commissioner also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his commitment to the healthcare sector, noting that the governor's efforts have yielded impressive results within a short period. 

The Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Musbahu Rabi'u, thanked Dr. Labaran for the opportunity to serve and assured that the committee would do its best to fulfill its mandate.

The committee's terms of reference include providing technical expertise and advice on blood transfusion-related matters, developing and implementing guidelines and policies, and collaborating with stakeholders to improve blood transfusion services. 

The committee comprises representatives from various healthcare institutions, academia, and partner organizations.

The inauguration of the State Technical Working Committee on Blood Transfusion marks a significant milestone in Kano State's efforts to enhance its healthcare services. 

With the committee's expertise and commitment, the state is poised to make significant strides in improving blood transfusion services and ensuring the well-being of its citizens.
