The celebration of International Workers’ Day was described as a day of happiness because it is a special day set aside for workers to reflect on what happened in the past and what will happen in the future to improve their lives.
Comrade Yunusa Mubarak, the Chairman of the Association of Senior civil servant of Federal Internal Revenue Service (FIRS) Kano Jigawa and Katsina States Chapter, made this known while speaking to journalists during the International Workers’ Day celebration held at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofar Mata.
He added that it is a day set aside by the United Nations and the Government to officially celebrate workers and remember the efforts made by our predecessors to ensure their rights, which is why they are happy about the day.
Comrade Yunusa Mubarak Muhammad said that workers are currently facing many challenges such as low wages and the cost of living. Everything in life has become expensive in the country that is why the salaries paid to workers are not enough to live comfortably.
He added that there is a need for the government in this country to reconsider how it will make life easier for workers and come up with ways to get concessions. Although they are satisfied with the steps taken by the government to improve the welfare of workers, there is a need to make things easier for them.
Comrade Yunusa Mubarak Muhammad said that they hope that the government will increase its efforts to improve the lives of workers and the people of the country as a whole. He also hoped that the workers will continue to work hard to promote the development of the country at all levels.
