The Northern Nigeria Flour Mill (NNFM) has been commended for its significant contribution to feeding the nation with its diverse range of products.
Alhaji Abubakar Sadik Uthman, Secretary of the Nigerian Shareholders Rights Association and a member of the NNFM audit committee, made this remark after the company's 53rd Annual General Meeting in Kano.
Uthman praised the high turnout at the AGM, noting that it demonstrated the love, support, and patronage for the board of directors and audit committee members.
He expressed his admiration for the company's commitment to producing essential food items, such as sugar, flour, butter, and cooking oil, which are staples in many Nigerian households.
The NNFM official highlighted the company's role in promoting agriculture through the provision of fertilizers and its use of local content, particularly wheat grown by local farmers. He noted that the company's utilization of 80% local wheat content has been beneficial to farmers at the grassroots level.
Uthman emphasized the company's potential for growth, stating that NNFM aims to become the largest food processing firm not only in West Africa but in the entire African continent. He attributed the company's success to loyalty, patronage, patience, and support from consumers, bakers, customers, and shareholders.
The NNFM official expressed gratitude to the company's stakeholders, acknowledging their role in the company's success. He reiterated the company's commitment to producing high-quality food products that meet the needs of Nigerians.
