The Abba Aliyu Gandu Community Support Foundation in Kano State has trained beneficiaries in various vocational skills and distributed solar equipment to 500 members of the community.
This is one of several outreach programs conducted by the foundation, which is led by Alhaji Abba Aliyu, who also serves as the Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency.
A total of 500 solar kits and start-up capital for small businesses were distributed to those who successfully completed the training organized by the foundation.
The Deputy Chairman of the Foundation, Suleiman Aliyu Abubakar, explained that the initiative has been ongoing for years and includes the provision of solar power systems aimed at addressing the challenge of electricity shortages in communities.
Representing the Managing Director, Abba Aliyu, at the event, he stated that the solar kits include fans, charging systems, and lighting equipment to be used in the homes of the beneficiaries.
He urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items, but to use them responsibly and effectively. The support was distributed across three local government areas in Kano State.
