The 100th anniversary of the first flight landing in Kano was held to honor some important figures who have made significant contributions to the development of aviation in Kano and the country as a whole.
The event was jointly organized by the Caliphate school for Aviation training Kano and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria "FAAN" and was attended by a large number of experts, academicians and students and those who have contributed to the aviation industry.
Alhaji Sa'ad Sa'id Sa'ad, the chairman of the organizing committee and the founder of the Caliphate Aviation School in Kano while speaking to journalists after the end of the celebration said that the first flight landing in Kano 100 years ago was the beginning of a new era for the development of aviation, not only in Kano but across the country and West Africa as a whole.
He indicated that in view of this, the Caliphate Aviation School, which they run, saw the need to attract people to celebrate this day because it is a way to thank God and attract people to this gift that God has bestowed upon Kano.
He said there is a reason Almighty God chose the plane to land in Kano 100 years ago, which can land anywhere, so we should look at the wisdom of that and the gift that God has given us. Let's look at the blessings and challenges that have been achieved, at what stage are our collique who we started together reached where they are, if we have not reached were they are what is the reason for us to do so, can we help ourselves or are we there seeking help from outside.on what can we do for ourselves? he asked.
Alhaji Sa'ad Sa'id Sa'ad said they understood this Malam Aminu Kano International Airport that God has given us in Kano is as a silver door that we can open, it is the only international airport in the Northern part of the country that passengers come to fly .We supposed to see to.consider on how it can be used for our economic development and jobs orpputunity for our teeming youths.
He said that among the people who were honored at the event, efforts were made to attract people to recognize every small job, no matter how small it is since someone depends with it for his daily needs, so that small businesses were honored at the airport, because it shows people that in everything you do, others are grateful to God and see your greatness.
Alhaji Sa'ad Sa'id Sa'ad expressed his satisfaction with the success of the event which brought together stakeholders from academics and researchers from different universities who attended from Bayero University, ABU Zaria and the National University of Transportation, Daura and many places .They came and realized that there is a need to focus on the aviation industry, conduct expert research and obtain reliable figures to invest heavily in this aviation industry.
