As the festive season draws near, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone One Headquarters, Kano, AIG Ahmed Garba, has issued a safety advisory to residents and visitors in Kano and Jigawa States. In a statement, Garba urged everyone to prioritize their safety and security during this period.

Motorists are being warned to adhere to traffic rules, with a strict warning against speeding and reckless driving. Travelers are also being advised to be cautious of strangers, especially at night, and parents are urged to keep a close watch on their children in crowded areas.

In response to potential security threats, the police have intensified patrols and security measures in strategic locations, including shopping malls, markets, and places of worship. Special Tactical Teams have been deployed to monitor high-risk areas and respond to security incidents.

AIG Garba assured the public of adequate security during and after the festive season, wishing the people of Kano and Jigawa States a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
