The Marghi community in Kano State, led by (PTIL) Elder Wadzani Adamu, the paramount ruler of the Marghi people, has commended the efforts of Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Kano Emirate under Emir Muhammad Sunusi II in ensuring peace and stability among the people. Speaking to journalists ahead of the Christmas and New Year 2026 celebrations, Adamu highlighted the significant contributions of the state government and the emirate in fostering harmony, which drives societal progress.
"The Marghi people in Kano are peace-loving. We enjoy a cordial relationship with the Hausa community. We pray that Allah strengthens unity and removes anything that could disrupt the peace among us," he said.
Adamu expressed gratitude that the Kano Emirate recognized the Marghi tribe by establishing a chieftaincy, aligning with their vision of sustained peace, which boosts economic development.
As Christmas and the New Year approach, he called on all people of Kano State and the nation—Christians and Muslims alike—to fervently pray for Allah’s guidance. “With God leading us, everything becomes easier. Let us pray for relief from hardships and for peace to prevail.”
“We thank Allah for bringing us to Christmas. We urge Christians to celebrate responsibly, avoid wastefulness, and act in accordance with the Lord’s teachings. This will help build a better society,” he added.
Elder Adamu concluded with prayers for the incoming year: “Just as we saw the start of 2025, and are entering 2026, we hope it brings blessings, peace for the nation and Kano State, resolves the challenges of the past year, and ushers in progress, health, and all that is needed for a fulfilling life.
