The Chairman of Dala Local Government Council, Alhaji Suraj Ibrahim Imam, has banned the local drum beat known as "Gangi" across the council area, citing security concerns and the need for harmonious coexistence.
The ban, announced after a security meeting, aims to curb thuggery and urban terrorism, which have caused unrest and sleepless nights for residents. Alhaji Suraj emphasized that the council will not tolerate such activities, as they tarnish the area's reputation as a hub for socio-economic and political progress.
He sympathized with victims, including the Ward Head of Rijiya Biyu, whose residence was torched, and urged residents to live in peace. The Council Chairman thanked security operatives and residents for their support, hoping for continued cooperation to ensure normalcy. The ban remains in effect until further notice.
