Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved appointments and promotions in a move aimed at strengthening governance and service delivery across key sectors of the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Wednesday.
Those appointed are:
1. Hon. Abdulkadir Balarabe Kankarofi (Alhajij)– Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs, Office of the Executive Governor. Hon. Alhajiji served as Senior Special Assistant- Protocol I to the Governor before his elevation to Special Adviser.
2. Hajia Aisha Tamburawa – Special Adviser to the Governor on Positive Propaganda. Until her appointment, Tamburawa is a Supervisory Councillor in Dawakin Kudu.
3. Engr. Mukhtar Yusuf– Managing Director, Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency (WRECA). Until his promotion, Engr. Yusuf served as Deputy Managing Director, WRECA.
4. Zakari Usman Balan – Deputy Managing Director, WRECA.
5. Dr. Mukhtar Bello Maisudan – Executive Secretary, Kano State Scholarship Board. Dr. Maisudan is a senior lecturer with Bayero University, Kano.
6. Engr. Abba Kankarofi – Managing Director, Kano Road and Maintenance Agency (KARMA). Engr. Kankarofi is promoted from the rank of Deputy Managing Director.
7. Hon. Musayyib Kawu Ungoggo, Managing Director, Kano Zoological Garden. Before his promotion, Musayyib serves in various political positions which include a councillor and Senior Special Reporter (SSR).
Governor Yusuf charged the newly appointed and promoted officials to justify the confidence reposed in them through dedication, transparency, and commitment to the people of Kano State.
He reiterated that his administration remains focused on strengthening institutions and delivering people-oriented governance in line with the objectives of the Kano First Agenda.
