Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the need for stability, progress, and improved wellbeing for the people of Kano State.

In a statement, Governor Yusuf said his decision followed wide consultations and careful consideration of Kano's present realities and future needs. He emphasized that the move is not driven by personal ambition, but rather a desire to work closely with the federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Governor assured that his alignment with the ruling party would attract more development projects and prosperity to Kano State. He appealed to citizens to join hands with him to build a stronger, more united, and more prosperous Kano State.
Former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje welcomed Governor Yusuf into the APC, declaring him the party's leader in Kano State and 2027 governorship candidate. Senator Barau Jibrin, Deputy Senate President, endorsed Governor Yusuf, calling on supporters to prepare for his re-election.
APC Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas assured Governor Yusuf of 100% party support.
