The Ptil. Marghi in Kano state Elder, Wadzani Adamu, has commended the Kano State Government for its response to the recent fire outbreak at Singer Market. Adamu, who is also the Sarkin Al'ummar Marghi, praised the efforts of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi, in providing support to affected traders.
In a statement, Elder Adamu described the fire as a test from God and appreciated the concern shown by the government and the president in providing relief to those affected. He prayed that God would prevent future occurrences and compensate the traders for their losses.
Elder Adamu also appealed to the people of Kano and Nigeria to support the affected traders, noting that Singer Market is a major commercial hub with influence beyond Kano and Nigeria, with trade links to other African countries. He urged traders to take necessary precautions to prevent future fires.
The elder's commendation comes as the Federal Goverment and Kano State Government continues to provide support to traders affected by the fire, including a Eight Billion Naira additional to ₦100 million relief package announced by Governor Yusuf.
