The Kano State chapter of Jama'atu Izalatul Bidi'a Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) has endorsed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for a second term, praising his administration for restoring hope, driving development, and putting Kano State on the path of sustainable progress.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Saturday.
The endorsement was made by the Chairman of Kano JIBWIS, Professor Abdullahi Saleh, when he received Governor Yusuf at his residence during a condolence visit over the recent passing of the scholar’s wife.
Professor Saleh expressed deep appreciation to Governor Yusuf for personally leading the condolence delegation, describing the gesture as a reflection of compassion, humility, and respect for religious leaders in the state.
He said the significant achievements recorded by the current administration have restored public trust in government and positioned Kano as a model of purposeful and people-focused leadership.
According to him, the ongoing projects started by Governor Yusuf should be allowed to continue so the administration can consolidate its gains and fully achieve its long-term vision for the state.
On behalf of the Kano State chapter of JIBWIS, Professor Saleh therefore declared support for Governor Yusuf’s second-term bid. He expressed confidence that another four years would enable the administration to deepen development, expand reforms, and further improve the welfare of the people.
In his response, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf thanked Professor Abdullahi Saleh for his prayers, encouragement, and confidence in the government’s development agenda.
The Governor conveyed his condolences over the loss of the scholar’s wife and prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives her shortcomings, grants her Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives the family the strength to bear the loss.
Governor Yusuf also commended Islamic scholars across Kano State for their dedication to promoting peace, unity, religious harmony, and moral guidance.
He acknowledged the critical role of religious leaders in fostering understanding, and in offering prayers for lasting peace, security, and economic prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with religious institutions, Islamic organizations, and leaders of all faiths to preserve Kano’s religious and cultural values while promoting peaceful coexistence and sustainable development.
He assured that his government will continue to implement people-centered policies and programs aimed at improving living standards, in line with the mandate given to him by the people of Kano State.
