The Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has condemned the abduction of two journalists and their families by suspected kidnappers in Danhono area of Kaduna metropolis.
The victims, correspondents of THE NATION and THE BLUE PRINT newspapers, were taken from their residences last night.
The NUJ Council Chairman, Comrade Asmau Yawo Halilu, and Secretary, Comrade Gambo Santos Sanga, expressed shock and dismay over the incident, appealing to security agencies to rescue the journalists and their families.
They urged government to intensify efforts to guarantee the security of lives and property, stressing that the resurgence of kidnapping in Kaduna must be checked.
