Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has hinted at a possible cabinet reshuffle, stating that he is reviewing the performance of his cabinet members.
In a live radio interview at the Government House, Governor Yusuf revealed that he has received a report on the performance of his cabinet members and will soon make a decision on those who are underperforming.
The governor emphasized that his close association with the cabinet members over the past year and a half has given him insight into their capabilities, allowing him to make informed decisions about their future in the cabinet.
He also stressed that none of the current commissioners lobbied for their positions, but were rather chosen based on their experience, credibility, and advice from consultants.
Governor Yusuf outlined his expectations from the commissioners, including obedience to himself, the NNPP, and the Kwankeasiyya Movement, as well as dedication to duty and the development of the state.
He also highlighted his administration's commitment to poverty alleviation, women and youth empowerment, and agricultural development.
The governor noted that his administration has been distributing free foodstuffs in urban and rural areas to cushion the hardship caused by the removal of petroleum subsidies.
This gesture, he assured, will be sustained to support thousands of underprivileged citizens.
Governor Yusuf also revealed that KASCO, a company providing fertilizers to farmers, is being upgraded to provide more commodities and boost food production. This initiative aims to support the state's agricultural sector.
The governor emphasized his administration's priority on women and youth empowerment, disclosing that 52,000 women and youths across the state receive N50,000 monthly to set up businesses and become self-reliant.
This program aims to promote economic independence and development.
As Governor Yusuf finalizes his decision on the cabinet reshuffle, the public eagerly awaits the next line of action from his administration.
With a focus on performance, poverty alleviation, and empowerment, the governor is poised to drive meaningful change in Kano State.
