UNICEF and the Bafarawa Foundation have praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State for his commitment to the welfare of 76 teenagers who were recently reunited with their families.
The teenagers underwent medical evaluation and reformation at the Muhammadu Buhari Specialists Hospital in Kano.
According to UNICEF's Chief of Field Office, Mr. Michael Banda, Governor Yusuf's prompt action and child-centered policy have been exceptional.
Banda highlighted the counseling sessions organized for the teenagers and the successful contact tracing and verification of their families as notable achievements
The UNICEF Chief emphasized the organization's collaboration with the state ministry of Women Affairs
