In a groundbreaking move, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has introduced the Abba Care Initiative, a free health insurance scheme that benefits over 300,000 vulnerable individuals. This initiative aims to enhance healthcare access for marginalized groups, including pregnant women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, inmates, and those living with sickle cell anemia.
The Governor's spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, revealed that the program is fully funded and managed by the Kano State Contributory Health Management Agency (KCHMA). The initiative ensures that beneficiaries can access quality healthcare services at no cost in designated facilities across the state.
