The National Youth Supporters group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has publicly denounced Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu, the lawmaker representing Ideato North and South, over his alleged claims that the National Secretary and the National Working Committee (NWC) are sabotaging the party.
According to Binya Yahuza Gabari, National Chairman of the National Youth Supporters group, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu's statements are baseless allegations fabricated to tarnish the image of the party leadership under Hon. Iliyasu Umar Damagun.
Gabari emphasized that the lawmaker's claims about the National Secretary and NWC meeting with APC government members are unfounded.
The PDP youth group warned Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu to retract his false statements or face legal action.
They appealed to him to fulfill his representative duties, as entrusted by his constituents, rather than creating discord within the party.
It's worth noting that Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu was recently expelled by the PDP over alleged anti-party activities, including deliberate failure to attend meetings, unauthorized publicity of disputes, and forming parallel executive and organs of the party.
The Imo PDP had previously appointed Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu as the leader of the party in the state, citing his sterling leadership qualities and commitment to the party's ethos.
However, his recent actions have led to widespread criticism and condemnation from within the party.
The National Youth Supporters group's statement highlights the growing tensions within the PDP, as the party struggles to maintain unity and cohesion in the face of internal conflicts and external challenges.
In conclusion, the PDP youth group's condemnation of Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu's alleged remarks reflects the party's commitment to upholding its values and principles, and to promoting unity and discipline among its members.
