Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has assigned new portfolios to seven newly appointed commissioners, tasking them to serve with dedication, integrity, and humility.
The governor urged the new appointees to foster team spirit and work in synergy to deliver expected results, emphasizing that their selection was carefully considered to accelerate his administration's vision centered on good governance, sustainable development, and citizens' well-being.
Shortly after taking their oath of office and allegiance, Governor Yusuf charged the commissioners to live up to the citizens' high expectations.
He explained that the new state executive council members were chosen to implement policies and programs that make a tangible difference in the lives of Kano State citizens.
The governor also swore in 13 Special Advisers and 6 Permanent Secretaries, who took their oath of office. Governor Yusuf assured the public that his administration remains committed to fulfilling campaign promises, addressing pressing issues, and building a more efficient and people-centered government.
The new portfolios include Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi as Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Trade; AbdulKadir Abdulsalam as Commissioner for Rural and Community Development; and Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiye as Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs. Other notable appointments include Dr. Gaddafi Shehu Sani as Commissioner for Power and Sustainable Energy and Dr. Ismail Aliyu DanMaraya as Commissioner for Finance.
Governor Yusuf also appointed six Special Advisers, including Yusif Jibrin Oyoyo for Student Matters and Prof. Tijjani Muhammad Naniya for Emirates Council. The governor urged the appointees to serve the citizens with their best abilities, working hand-in-hand to ensure effective service delivery.
The appointees, including Commissioner Sagagi, Special Adviser Dr. Ismail Lawal Sulaiman, and Permanent Secretary Aminu Bashir, promised to institutionalize government policies in their respective offices to achieve the vision and mission of the Governor Yusuf-led NNPP administration.
