Senator Lamido Ibrahim, representing Sokoto East, has sponsored 30 students to study at Maryam Abacha American University in Kano. The students were matriculated on Tuesday, marking the beginning of their academic journey. 

This scholarship scheme, fully funded by Senator Lamido, provides the beneficiaries with an opportunity to pursue quality education without financial constraints.

The beneficiaries, who have already settled into their studies, expressed their gratitude to Senator Lamido for the opportunity and promised to work hard to justify the investment made in them. 

In his address, Senator Lamido, represented by Professor Mu'azu Shamaki, congratulated the students and urged them to remain committed to their studies.

Professor Shamaki explained that Senator Lamido's sponsorship goes beyond paying tuition fees and other levies. Each student will also receive a monthly stipend of N30,000. 

This generous gesture has been praised by dignitaries, university authorities, and well-wishers, who describe it as commendable considering the importance of education in human development.

The matriculation ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Talban Isah, Alhaji Shitu Adamu Bargaja, and Alhaji Mansur Aliyu Lamido.
