The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended a social media content creator, Muhammed Kabir Sa'ad, for allegedly abusing Naira notes. The arrest was made by operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the EFCC.
Sa'ad's troubles began when he posted a video on his TikTok and Instagram account, @youngcee0066, where he was seen throwing Naira notes on the floor and deliberately stepping on them. In the video, he also dared EFCC officers to arrest him if they could, speaking in Hausa language.
The EFCC tracked Sa'ad down through surveillance and arrested him in Tudun Wada area of Kaduna State. He was subsequently taken to the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Commission for interrogation.
The EFCC's action is part of its efforts to curb abuse of the Naira and other financial crimes. The Commission has been monitoring social media platforms to identify and apprehend individuals who engage in such practices.
Upon conclusion of his interrogation, Sa'ad will be charged to court. The EFCC's move serves as a warning to others who may be tempted to abuse the Naira or engage in other financial crimes.
