The Kano State Government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has made a groundbreaking move by settling pension arrears for retirees who completed 35 years of service and those who passed away while in service. These pensioners had gone without payment for eight years under the previous administration.
According to Alhaji Habu Muhammad Fagge, Chairman of the Kano State Pension Fund Trustees, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf administration cleared a N16 billion pension backlog and also Five billion is already on ground pending final arrangements for disbursement.
within the first two years of taking office.This is bringing relief to hundreds of pensioners and their families.
Under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf leadership, Kano State has witnessed significant transformations in governance, service delivery, and leadership. The state has implemented strategic reforms, infrastructure development, educational revitalisation, healthcare improvements, and youth empowerment initiatives, earning admiration nationwide.
Notable achievements include:Declaring a State of Emergency in Education Allocating 29% of the 2024 budget and 31% of the 2025 budget to educationUpgrading the healthcare system, including primary healthcare centres.
Alhaji Habu Muhammad Fagge attributed these achievements to the governor's genuine commitment to the welfare of Kano citizens and a long-term vision for sustainable development. He prayed for continued divine guidance for the governor and his cabinet to lead Kano State to greater heights.
