UN Women marked World Refugee Day, June 20, 2025, by celebrating the resilience of displaced women, girls, and families affected by the conflict in Yobe State.
In a statement shared with our reporter, Fatima Muhammad Paga, the Focal Person for UN Women in Yobe, commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his leadership in facilitating the safe return and reintegration of internally displaced persons (IDPs) into their communities.
The organization expressed profound gratitude to donor partners for their pivotal contributions to recovery efforts, emphasizing the critical role of their support in rebuilding lives and fostering community resilience.
Highlighting the challenges faced by displaced women and girls, UN Women reiterated its unwavering commitment to empowering them and ensuring their active participation in recovery initiatives.
