Some of the 27 candidates who contested for the 2023 federal and state assemblies under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State under the leadership of Hon. AbdulRahman M. Salga have announced their defection from the party to the ADC.
They made this known at a press conference held in Kano.
AbdulRahman Salga, who is a former chairman of the PDP one family group and a candidate for the PDP National Assembly seat in Dala Local Government Area, said they decided to leave the party after consulting with supporters, relatives and friends.
He explained that one of the reasons for their defection was the frequent internal conflicts that plagued the party due to the fact that there were those who were entrenched in it and were exploiting the situation because they had taken it as a business.
Hon. AbdulRahman M. Salga said that they are on a political journey to find solutions for the people, especially the masses from the situation they are in. Therefore, as candidates, they agreed to leave the PDP for the ADC.
Mainasara said that their return to the ADC will allow them to conduct politics with ambition and freedom to find solutions for the people of the country, and in the near future there will be a major ADC rally to be held in Kano State.
