I have always held the view that women are emotionally and physiologically stronger than men. This belief is shaped by historical accounts of how women have contributed to changing the course of history and confronting societal injustices.

Take, for example, Rosa Parks, the woman who significantly contributed to ending segregation against Black people in the United States of America. She bluntly and defiantly refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white man who demanded it. This act of courage and defiance became one of the sparks that ignited the Civil Rights Movement in the USA, ultimately leading to the end of segregation.

However, before Rosa Parks, there was another woman—Claudette Colvin—who was actually the first to challenge the Montgomery Bus Law. At just 15 years old, she was arrested in 1955 for her act of defiance. Her effort, though groundbreaking, remained unknown for several decades.

Claudette Colvin passed away on 13 January 2026 at the age of 86 in Texas, United States of America. She was undoubtedly an Amazon, a woman of tremendous courage, who etched her name into the footprints of global history and the struggle for human freedom.

In conclusion, the stories of Rosa Parks and Claudette Colvin remind us that women have consistently stood at the forefront of justice, resilience, and transformation. Their courage continues to inspire humanity to pursue freedom and equality.
