Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has arrived at Singer Market following a second fire outbreak at the Gidan Gilas section. The governor, who visited the scene while the fire was still raging, called on the Federal Government to provide modern firefighting equipment, including air support, to contain the fire and prevent future occurrences.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf commended the efforts of the Kano State Fire Service and security agencies battling the inferno. He urged traders and residents to remain calm and cooperate with emergency responders.

The governor's call for federal intervention highlights the need for improved firefighting capabilities in major commercial centres like Singer Market.
