Bayero University Kano (BUK) has launched an investigation into allegations of online impersonation and financial misconduct involving a student. The move follows a public commentary and social media posts linking the student to the acts.
In a statement, BUK's Management emphasized its commitment to upholding strict standards of conduct and discipline among students. "Any conduct capable of bringing the name and reputation of the University into disrepute is treated with the utmost seriousness," the statement read.
The University has begun a preliminary inquiry, and appropriate authorities are reviewing the issue in line with established rules and disciplinary procedures. BUK commended individuals, including Professor Farooq Kperogi, who support students in need through financial assistance.
The Management assured the public that if allegations are substantiated, disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with regulations and laws. The public is urged to allow the investigative process to unfold without speculation or circulating unverified information.
