The WAZOBIA Conflict Resolution and Peace Advocacy Initiative (WARCOPIA) has honored Ambassadors Dr. Nana Maryam Abubakar Gwambe and Alasan Bintu Yakudima for their contributions to promoting peace.
The event, held at the Murtala Muhammad Library in Kano, brought together people from various sectors, including traditional leaders, security personnel, healthcare workers, politicians, and community members.
Ambassador Dr. Nana Maryam Gwambe expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying it motivates her to continue advocating for peace and community development. She praised WAZOBIA for gathering talented individuals and encouraging them to work towards unity and peace.
Ambassador Dr. Alasan Bintu Yakudima, Deputy Commander of the Conflict Resolution Peace Corp, said their work focuses on preventing conflicts and promoting peace. She thanked WAZOBIA for the honor and pledged continued dedication to their mission.
The ambassadors have been working towards getting a law passed in the National Assembly to recognize their efforts and provide government support for their peace initiatives.
The event was organised by Ambassador Garba Sulaiman Marafa, leader of WAZOBIA Conflict Resolution.
