Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has said his administration has fulfilled 90% of the promises made to the people of the state within three years of assuming office.
Governor Yusuf disclosed this on Saturday while receiving the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, who paid him a Sallah homage at the Government House, Kano.
This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
According to the governor, his government has remained committed to delivering democratic dividends through people-oriented policies and impactful developmental projects across key sectors of the state.
He explained that his administration has recorded significant progress in education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, water supply, youth empowerment and economic development. He said all the interventions are aimed at improving living standards and repositioning Kano for sustainable growth.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his commitment to completing the remaining promises before the end of his tenure and sustaining the pace of development across all parts of the state.
“I assure you and the people of Rano Emirate that we will timely deliver on the expansion and dualisation of the Karfi–Rano Road, provision of fertiliser to farmers at subsidised rates, and the renovation of the Emir’s Palace, among other projects,” he said.
The governor expressed appreciation to the people of Rano Emirate for their support, patience and confidence in his leadership, pledging to continue working tirelessly to justify the trust reposed in him.
Earlier in his remarks, the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, commended Governor Yusuf for the “remarkable achievements” recorded within three years of his administration.
The Emir praised the governor for the completion of five-kilometre roads in Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure Local Government Areas, as well as the continuation of the Kaluwaiwai Water Project.
He also appreciated the governor’s efforts in securing the upgrade of Rano Emirate Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre and the conversion of the School of Rural Technology, Rano, to a Federal Polytechnic.
Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru assured the governor of the continued support and cooperation of the people of the emirate towards sustaining peace, security and stability in Kano State and Nigeria at large.
