A leading Kwankwasiyya stakeholder in Kano State from Kumbotso Local Government, Ambassador Isyaku Yahaya Talba, has hailed the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) under Kwankwasiyya leadership for fielding former Kano Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, as governorship candidate and Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as Kano Central senatorial candidate, describing the selections as “merit-based and well-deserved”.
Amb. Talba stated this while briefing journalists on Saturday in Kano.
According to him, the choice of Gwarzo was in line with the endorsement of their political leader, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who attested to his integrity, trustworthiness and sound Islamic knowledge.
“Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo is a man of truth, honesty and deep religious understanding. Those who know him closely can vouch for his character, and we are confident that he will enjoy massive support to emerge victorious,” Talba said.
The Ambassador also expressed satisfaction with the nomination of Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna for Kano Central Senatorial District, alongside all other NDC candidates across various elective positions in Kano State.
He explained that Kwankwasiyya members remain committed to the movement’s structure because of their belief in its ideology of patriotism, nation-building and developmental agenda championed by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Looking ahead to 2027, Talba expressed optimism that, with God’s will, the NDC will secure victory at the national level under a presidential ticket featuring Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
