The Kwankwasiyya Movement has expressed appreciation to all its loyal members who contested for various elective positions under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), while congratulating those who emerged as candidates through the party’s consensus process. The movement also charged them to uphold its core values of discipline, integrity and service to humanity.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Hon. Habibu Sale Mohammed, PhD, and made available to journalists.
According to the statement, the movement is proud of all aspirants who sought the governorship, senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly seats in Kano State, noting that their discipline and loyalty in accepting the consensus arrangement adopted by the leadership demonstrated the strength of Kwankwasiyya as one of the most ideologically driven political movements in Nigeria.
“The strength of any political movement lies not only in its ability to produce candidates but also in the willingness of its members to place collective interests above personal ambitions. The conduct of our aspirants throughout this process has once again confirmed that the Kwankwasiyya Movement remains disciplined and committed to its ideals,” the statement said.
The movement particularly commended Senator Rufa’i Sani Hanga for his statesmanship in stepping aside and supporting the emergence of His Excellency Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as the consensus senatorial candidate. It also praised former Kano Governor and Senator, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, for accepting the decision to present Hon. Nasir Batayya, immediate past President of NARTO, as the Senatorial candidate for Kano South.
Kwankwasiyya congratulated all candidates who emerged through consensus, especially its Governorship Candidate, Hon. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, whose emergence it described as a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by the leadership and members of the movement. It also congratulated all senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly candidates across Kano State.
The movement reminded the candidates that they are not just seeking public office but are ambassadors of Kwankwasiyya. They are therefore expected to conduct themselves with humility, integrity and respect for the people, while running issue-based campaigns rooted in good governance, social justice and accountability.
“As we move closer to the elections, we call on all members and supporters of the movement to remain united, focused and committed to our shared vision. The spirit of sacrifice and discipline demonstrated must guide us as we work collectively towards securing victory for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and delivering a better future for the people of Kano State,” the statement added.
