There are growing indications that some key stakeholders of the APC in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State may engage in what is commonly referred to as anti-party activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This concern is particularly centered on the House of Representatives seat, where the former Commissioner for Environment in Katsina State, Hon. Hamza Sulaiman Faskari (Wamban Faskari, Sadaukin Kasar Hausa na 1), is expected to contest under the APC platform to represent Kankara, Faskari, and Sabuwa Federal Constituency.
Some influential members of the party are reportedly no longer hiding their intentions, suggesting that if they remain dissatisfied before the 2027 elections, they may work against the party from within.
Among those frequently mentioned is Hon. Bishir Wada Faskari, who is alleged to have openly expressed such views without fear or hesitation. Reports also indicate that several others within the APC structure across Kankara, Faskari, and Sabuwa share similar sentiments.
Many of these individuals are believed to be loyal to Hon. Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki, the current member representing Kankara, Faskari, and Sabuwa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who recently defected from the APC to the PDP and is expected to seek re-election under his new party.
According to reports, some of his supporters openly declare:
Nigeria for Tinubu
Katsina for Dikko
Funtua Zone for Dan Dutse
But Kankara, Faskari, and Sabuwa for PDP
This situation is now seen as one of the major political challenges facing the APC candidate, Hon. Hamza Sulaiman Faskari.
Those expressing these grievances reportedly vowed that even if they are expelled from the party, they will not willingly leave on their own.
Sources indicate that similar tensions are also being witnessed in parts of Kankara and Sabuwa Local Government Areas. However, only time will determine how events eventually unfold.
In an independent investigation conducted by our team, it was discovered that some of the aggrieved members believe their complaints are genuine and substantial, while others blame the situation on poor reconciliation efforts and lack of recognition from some close associates of Hon. Hamza.
Some of the complainants stated that during political meetings and gatherings, they are often ignored or informed late, despite their loyalty and commitment to Hon. Hamza Sulaiman Faskari.
They argued that such treatment diminishes their political relevance and gives others the impression that their contributions are no longer valued.
One elder from Yankara, who requested anonymity, stated that individuals such as Engineer Murtala Ibrahim Sheme and Hon. Bala Ado are among the few respected figures still trying to stabilize and unite the political movement.
He further noted that without the efforts of such personalities, the situation could have become far worse.
According to him, many of the aggrieved members across Faskari Local Government place great confidence in Engineer Murtala Ibrahim Sheme because they see him as someone capable of uniting people and supporting the community genuinely.
The concerned individuals therefore called on Engineer Murtala Ibrahim Sheme and other influential stakeholders to strengthen unity and cooperation in support of Hon. Hamza Sulaiman Faskari’s political movement, rather than allowing internal conflicts and misunderstandings to weaken the party ahead of the elections.
In conclusion, they emphasized that this is the time for reconciliation, unity, and mutual respect — not a period for political arrogance or exclusion based on closeness to powerful figures.
They maintained that if genuine support is to be given to Wamban Faskari, then all stakeholders must be carried along and treated with fairness and importance.
