The Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Bello Yahaya, has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing collaboration with the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC). This was during a courtesy visit by the PCRC, led by its State Chairman, Comrade Garba Muhammad Ubale, at the Police Command Headquarters in Gombe.

The delegation featured prominent figures, including Alhaji Yaya Hammari (Wazirin Yariman Gombe), Alhaji Saleh Danburam, Secretary-General of Jama'atul Nasarul Islam (JNI), Mrs. Molle Istifanus Bennett, the PCRC Women Leader, and members of the State Executive Council. Representatives from Area Commands and Divisional Headquarters across the state also attended the meeting.

In his address, Comrade Garba Muhammad Ubale commended CP Yahaya for his proactive leadership and ongoing efforts to maintain law and order. He assured the Police Commissioner of the PCRC’s unwavering support and partnership in advancing security across the state.

Alhaji Yaya Hammari emphasized the importance of community policing initiatives, stating that they are vital for combating crime effectively.

Mrs. Molle Istifanus Bennett, meanwhile, stressed the critical role women play in crime prevention and youth engagement, urging the command to adopt non-kinetic approaches to prevent crime through early intervention.

In response, CP Bello Yahaya thanked the PCRC delegation for their visit and commitment to fostering peace and security. He reaffirmed the police command’s dedication to working closely with the PCRC and other stakeholders to sustain the relative peace in Gombe. The Commissioner encouraged open communication, urging the PCRC to share observations, complaints, or suggestions to improve police services.

The visit underscored the strong partnership between the Police Command and the PCRC, reflecting a shared commitment to community safety and the vision of a peaceful Gombe State.
