The APC Arewa Youths Merger Group has praised President Bola Tinubu's economic policies, citing the recent reduction in food prices as a notable achievement.
According to the group's chairman, Hon. Musa Mujahid Zaitawa, the president's efforts to improve the economy have yielded positive results, with food prices currently on the decline.
The group has also called on major food processing companies, such as Dangote, BUA, and Mangal, to reduce their prices by 50% to support the people, especially with the fasting month of Ramadan approaching.
Hon. Zaitawa emphasized that this gesture would greatly facilitate the people and demonstrate the companies' commitment to social responsibility.
Hon. Zaitawa attributed the decline in food prices to President Tinubu's economic policies, including the repair of oil refineries in Port Harcourt and Warri.
These refineries, which were previously non-operational, are now functioning continuously, resulting in a significant reduction in oil prices.
The Dangote refinery, which was recently opened, has also contributed to this achievement.
In addition to economic progress, Hon. Zaitawa commended the president's efforts to enhance security in the Northern Region.
He noted that the Nigerian Army's serious fight against terrorists and kidnappers, with the support of the president, is yielding positive results. The appointment of security heads from the North is also seen as a significant step towards protecting the region.
Hon. Zaitawa urged Northern leaders to call on business moguls in the region to reduce the cost of living by decreasing prices of essential commodities, including food, building materials, and other necessities.
This, he believes, would demonstrate the companies' commitment to supporting the people.
