The Kano State Government has praised the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ungogo Branch for organizing a Law Week with a focus on the rule of law in a democratic society. The theme, "The Rule of Law in a Democratic Society," was described as profoundly relevant and intellectually vital.

Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, Secretary to the Kano State Government, emphasized that the rule of law is an indispensable pillar of democratic governance and the administration of justice.

He noted that democracy without the rule of law lacks purpose, direction, and legitimacy.

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Isah Dederi, highlighted the importance of the rule of law in ensuring fairness, equality, and justice for all.

He stated that Kano State, under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's leadership, has made significant strides in strengthening the rule of law.

The Chairman of NBA Ungogo Branch, Barrister Ahmad Abubakar Gwadabe, described the Law Week as a celebration of the legal profession's identity and a reaffirmation of its commitment to upholding the rule of law.

He emphasized that the rule of law is essential for societal progress and that legal professionals have a responsibility to defend it.

The event featured discussions, lectures, and networking sessions aimed at promoting the rule of law and defending democratic values.

The NBA Ungogo Branch has also launched a publication, "The Ungogo Bar Voice," to amplify its voice on issues of law, justice, and societal reform.
