The Kwankwasiyya Movement has issued a statement explaining its position on the ongoing bye-elections in Kano Municipal and Ungogo State Assembly constituencies, following the deaths of NNPP members.

In a statement signed by Spokesperson Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, the Movement explained that its National Leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, supported the nomination of the deceased members' children as NNPP flag bearers, citing compassion and continuity. This decision was made in respect of the bereaved families and their longstanding commitment to the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

However, after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's defection to APC, the party allegedly manipulated the process, replacing NNPP nominees with APC candidates, including the House Leader in Ungogo local government and a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor for Kano Municipal. The statement claims the nominees were pressured to resign from NNPP and join APC.

Despite this, Kwankwaso maintained support for the deceased members' children, regardless of party affiliation, prioritizing compassion, loyalty, and respect over political expediency. NNPP deliberately didn't substitute their names, demonstrating its legitimate structure.

The Movement asserts there's only one recognized NNPP structure, as INEC didn't recognize another faction. The fact that NNPP has no candidate in the bye-election, as recognized by INEC, puts speculation to rest.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement emphasizes its principles: loyalty, justice, compassion, and respect for fallen members' sacrifices. It urges the public to disregard attempts to distort facts for political advantage.
