The Kwankwasiyya Movement has expressed deep concern over a disturbing pattern of judicial pronouncements in Nigeria, citing recent controversial judgments, including one by Justice Bello Kawu involving the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP).

This development is part of a troubling trend where judicial actions appear to overstep constitutional boundaries, produce conflicting orders, and raise concerns about neutrality and due process.

The group alleges this trend undermines democracy, fuels political tensions, and erodes public trust in the judiciary. Similar interventions in internal party affairs of PDP, LP, and ADC have led to confusion and factional disputes.

Conflicting rulings from courts of coordinate jurisdiction and disregard for established legal doctrines like stare decisis are alarming and unacceptable.

The Movement warns that continued judicial interference risks escalating tensions, undermining election credibility, and destabilizing democracy. It calls for urgent National Judicial Council (NJC) review, urging judicial restraint and adherence to fairness and constitutional order.

The statement signed  by Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed Spokesperson, Kwankwasiyya Movement urges opposition parties to unite against judicial abuse and consider peaceful protests, international awareness, and civil society engagement to safeguard democracy.

It cautions against forum shopping and judicial manipulation, emphasizing Nigeria's democracy depends on the rule of law and impartial justice.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement remains committed to defending democratic values, advocating for a system where the rule of law prevails, justice is impartial, and the people's will is respected.
