The Department of History and International Studies at Sokoto State University, Sokoto has changed the nomenclature of its undergraduate programme from Bachelor of Arts in History to Bachelor of Arts in History and Diplomatic Studies.
The change reflects the Vice Chancellor’s effort to rebrand and unbundle the programme, making it more competitive for students and staff. With this development, the Department will train not only future administrators and academics but also high-ranking diplomats of global standards.
The Acting Head of Department, Dr. Godwin O. Odeh, commended the Vice Chancellor for his foresight and administrative will in making the change a reality.
“The Department welcomes students from across Nigeria and around the world,” Dr. Odeh said. “We encourage candidates writing JAMB and others interested in global trends and international development to make Sokoto State University their university of first choice in this regard.”
