Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated Muslims in Kano State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Maulud, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Tuesday, the governor called on Muslims to use the celebration to reflect on the life, teachings and character of the Holy Prophet.
Governor Yusuf highlighted the Prophet’s virtues of peace, justice, compassion, honesty, patience and tolerance urging the faithful to demonstrate these values in their daily lives.
He also stressed the need for peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual respect among people of different backgrounds.
The governor further urged parents, religious leaders and community elders to intensify efforts in educating the younger generation about the teachings and exemplary conduct of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
While praying for continued peace, stability and prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria, Governor Yusuf called on citizens to support government efforts aimed at improving the wellbeing of the people.
He also used the occasion to offer prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Vice President Kashim Shettima, for a successful first tenure and a hitch-free re-election in 2027.
Governor Yusuf wished Muslims a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Maulud celebration, and called on them to pray for peace, progress and unity across the country.
