Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Abba Kabir Yusuf as the party’s sole presidential and governorship candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The dual endorsements were announced during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday at the Coronation Hall of the Kano Government House, attended by key party leaders and officials.

At the meeting, Governor Yusuf was formally presented with the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms, confirming his emergence as the consensus governorship candidate. The forms were handed over by former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who said the decision reflected the collective agreement of party leaders in the state.

Ganduje stated that the stakeholders had already resolved to adopt Yusuf as the sole candidate and that presenting him with the forms was a step toward fulfilling that commitment. Party leaders explained that the consensus arrangement was aimed at strengthening unity and consolidating the administration’s achievements ahead of the 2027 elections.

In his response, Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to sustain inclusive governance and implement people-oriented policies for the continued development of Kano State.

In a separate resolution, stakeholders unanimously endorsed President Tinubu as the APC’s sole presidential candidate for 2027. The motion was moved by Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi and received full backing from participants at the meeting.

Speaking on behalf of the party, Kano State APC Chairman Umar Haruna Doguwa announced that the chapter had resolved to contribute ₦50 million toward the purchase of Tinubu’s expression of interest and nomination forms, describing the move as a demonstration of confidence in his leadership and ongoing reforms.

The meeting reaffirmed both endorsements as strategic steps to strengthen cohesion within the APC in Kano. In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustapha Muhammad, stakeholders were commended for their support, while party members were urged to remain united in advancing the collective interests of the party and the state.
