The Spiritual Leader of the Qadiriyya Islamic Movement, Sheikh Qaribullah Sheikh Nasiru Kabara, on Tuesday paid a historic solidarity visit to the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, in Abuja. The meeting marked the first official encounter between the two leaders.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Governor’s Director General of Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
During the meeting, Sheikh Qaribullah congratulated Governor Yusuf on the achievements recorded by his administration. He offered prayers to Almighty Allah to grant the Governor wisdom, sound health and continued success in delivering good governance to the people of Kano State.
The National Leader of the Qadiriyya Movement commended the Governor’s developmental initiatives and urged him to sustain the momentum in key sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare and other critical areas of governance.
Sheikh Qaribullah also assured Governor Yusuf of the continued prayers and support of members of the Qadiriyya Islamic Movement for peace, unity and progress in Kano State and across Nigeria.
In his response, Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a clear demonstration of the cordial relationship between his administration and religious leaders in the state.
The Governor called on members of the Qadiriyya Movement and other Islamic organisations to continue praying for lasting peace, economic prosperity and national unity. He stressed that spiritual support remains essential to the success of governments at all levels.
Governor Yusuf further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing people-centered policies and sustaining the pace of development across all parts of Kano State.
