A high-powered presidential delegation has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Alhaji Hamza Usman Darma, a prominent Kano politician and elder statesman, who passed away recently.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The delegation was led by Special Adviser to the President, Ibrahim Kabir Masari and included Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, as well as the governors of Yobe, Sokoto, and Jigawa States*.
The delegation also extended condolences to the government and people of Kano State over the death.
In a condolence message read by Yobe State Governor, H.E. Mai Mala Buni, the delegation commiserated with the family and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased. They also prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
They described the late Hamza Darma as a prominent political figure whose contributions to Kano State and the nation would be remembered.
The delegation conveyed the condolences of the Federal Government to the Kano State Government and the people of Kano State, describing the death as "a great loss to the state and the country."
Responding on behalf of the family, Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for sympathizing with the people of Kano over the passing of Alhaji Hamza Darma.
