Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has mourned the death of Alhaji Sani Lawan Kofar Mata, former Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Governor Yusuf expressed his condolences in a statement issued by his spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday, September 20, 2025.
The Governor described the passing of Alhaji Sani Lawan Kofar Mata as a great loss to Kano State, noting his immense contributions to public service and to the welfare of the people, particularly in the management of pilgrims' affairs.
According to the statement, the deceased will be remembered for his dedicated service to the state and his role in developing the pilgrims' welfare system.
Governor Yusuf prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus, and give his family, friends, associates, and the entire people of Kano State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He urged the family to take solace in the fact that death is inevitable and prayed that Allah rewards the deceased for his service to humanity.
