Renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Husain Yakub Rano, has called on the people to unite with one heart in seeking relief from Allah, while focusing on repentance, seeking forgiveness, reciting abundant salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ and prayers.
In a statement he issued, Sheikh Rano said that if people have sincere intentions in seeking help from Allah alone and not from anyone else, and put aside selfishness, Allah will bring relief to the nation.
The scholar offered the following prayer to the people:
"O Allah! Grant us leaders who will be a source of goodness and mercy for us. Whoever will be a source of goodness and mercy for us, even if he is not our preferred choice, O Allah, establish him as a leader over us.
O Allah! Whoever will not be a source of goodness and mercy for us, even if he is our preferred choice, O Allah, do not grant him leadership, and do not place him in authority over us."
Sheikh Rano said that from the local level to the highest level of leadership, if the people entrust their choice to Allah and place their trust in Him, In shā Allah they will witness positive change whether those currently in power remain, or others come in.
He emphasized that as long as the people accept Allah’s choice, pray with good intentions, Allah will never abandon them.
Sheikh Husain Yakub Rano concluded with the prayer: "May Allah bring us relief, choose for us what is best, and grant Nigeria righteous leaders."
